new CLEAR STAMP RELEASE at Some Odd Girl! (comment to win!)

howdy, chickens!  quick like a bunny tonight, as the hubbin is out for a while and i NEED to get some shopping under my belt (it's kind of sad - i literally have THREE gifts so far, but at least my hair looks cute!). 

we have a brand new CLEAR STAMP RELEASE at Some Odd Girl, and it's all about the lurrrrrve!  :D  yesterday, we brought you Love Me Not Mae (a dreamily romantic kinda gal), and today, we have LOVE BANDIT!  super cute little raccoons who are out to steal your heart (and everyone else's, too!)...  wanna see 'em?  here's one now!

i went SUPER soft with my palette for this one, opting for a Memento London Fog ink and some grey tone Copics (that's right, COPICS - again!).  i just wanna pick this little guy up and squeeeeeze him, ya know?!

both papers are Fancy Pants (It's the Little Things) and i've gotten a TON of mileage from this little 6x6 pad!  cute and simple, and AGAIN, not my usual style.  ribbon from my stash, and that is literally IT!  crazy, right?  :)

Sketch challenge at Studio D - Damaris is giving away COPICS!

so the 25 Days of Christmas are wrapping up at Studio D - have you been there to check out the festivities?  Damaris has shared what seems like a bazillion awesome projects for the holidays, and i can tell you this - my mind's been SWIMMING with ideas!  the girl's creativity just doesn't quit!

anywho, Copic markers can be won for this particular challenge - Damaris has given us a little sketch action to play with, and the challenge closes in just a few hours.  i decided to color up my Gingerbread Kaylee from Some Odd Girl (with Copics, for a change!), and went all non-traditional (and almost Halloweeny, come to think of it!), for this lil' card...

well i saw the shapes and layers of the sketch and had to play along (although i replaced the circle with an image)!  here's the sketch she gave us:

FUN, right?  i love the hexagon shapes and the chevron pattern (and i almost went in a whole other direction, but stuck to the original plan).  there's still time (and not many players), so if you wanna get in on it, CLICK HERE and be inspired!

now i'd just like to give a little nod to our awesome hostess, Damaris, for 25 days of entertaining posts, inspiring projects, and LOTS of organizing and planning and awesomesauce - i certainly couldn't have put something like this together, and i hope it becomes a yearly event!  thanks, D!  :D

afternoon, chickens...  hope all's well in your respective necks of the woods!  i just came back from gettin' my hairs did (FINALLY - goodbye grey!), and i'm feelin' like a rock star!  my hair guy is so awesome - he always tries something slightly different and i always walk out feeling like i just got the royal treatment.  totally happy with my new 'do, yessirreebob!

in crafty news, there's a Christmas challenge going on at Charisma right now!  all we wanna see is your Christmas creations - could be with a Christmas theme, could be for a Christmas giftie, could be a Christmas decoration...  regardless, we wanna see 'em!

i decided to whip something pretty up using my favourite gal, Kaylee (Mistletoe Kaylee, in this case), from Some Odd Girl, and paired her up with a sentiment and chevron pattern from our brand new Make a Statement clear stamp set...  here we go!

i was quite pleased, i'll have you know, because i worked with a teeny-tiny set of just 24 Prismacolor Pencils whilst hanging out at my in-laws' house (as opposed to my full set of 132), and i thought i did well with what was available.  ;)  maybe it's not always bad to be limited - forces you to think a little more outside-the-box and just make do.

and there it is...  i know it's been a very strange week and the news has left many people feeling saddened and disgusted (my trainer at work actually lost her little nephew in the Connecticut shooting, so it's impacted everyone in our bank), so i just encourage all of you to hold your loved ones a little closer and let them know what they mean to you.  don't take anything for granted, and be grateful for every moment.  xo

howdy, folks...

are you working on holiday projects?  did you start back in, oh, JUNE, or are you like me and frantically start the madness sometime around late October?  :)
