Designed to Color and Lil' Inkers Designs are HOPPIN'!

can i get a "WOOT WOOT!"? :)

'cuz it's HOP TIME!  we've been SUPER excited about this day, because not only are we celebrating Designed to Color's FIRST BIRTHDAY (as one of the Color Crew, i have to say that it's seriously a wonderful thing - have you SEEN what this magazine is all about?!), but we're partying with Lil' Inker Designs, and we can't wait for you to see tons of gorgeousness on all your stops along the way!

we have two funtastical prizes to be won - you'll need to visit each blog and comment to let us know you've visited, and you have from now through Thursday, March 7th at midnight CST to hop!  but PAY ATTENTION - we might throw you a curve ball and ask you to do something a little different for your comment...  for example, in your comment below, answer the following:  besides paper crafting, what other hobbies do you have, or what have you tried in the past?   (i'd espesh love to hear if you've tried something and failed miserably...  i was NOT very good at wood burning, for example.)

yep.  so we're ONE.  and hey, if that's what i have to do to make myself feel YOUNG again, so be it!  HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY, Designed to Color!  :D

i've got a fun little project to share for the occasion, too!  ready?

Absolutely darling! when you do a trim like that on the image, do you adhere it first and then trim it down to match? Love that technique--just don't do it very much myself. This cat is going on my wish list...I've wanted him for awhile...but now I have to HAVE him!

  9. Very cute kitty card! My other hobbies are gardening and simple sewing/quilting/stitchery projects. I found I am not good at sewing clothes for myself--they never fit right.

  10. Adorable card. You kitty is so cute and your colouring is amazing. I also do other projects like Air brushing (still learning) I draw alot too. and I like painting as well. I am trying my hand at mixed media on canvas too. I also have done some work with a dremel tool. a lil carving. I still need more work on that and I do want to try my hand at wood burning and glass etching. Maybe one of those will fail but I am going to try them anyway. You will never know what you are good at until you try.

  15. Oh, this is TOO CUTE!! Your coloring is just amazing and I really love the design. TFS! As for hobbies...how much time do you have? LOL I read a TON (does that count as a hobby?) and do karaoke religiously. I've tried snowshoeing (hard work!) and dancing. As for crafty hobbies, I have dabbled in chalk pastels (not so great), sewing (I'm ok, but I really need to find more time) and jewelry making (it was fun, but I'm over it). There's a bunch more, but I don't want to write you a novel. =D

  19. How could you fail at wood burning?? I mean, don't you just light it on fire and it burns? It is flammable after all, right?

Bwah ha ha ha ha, don't mind me. (I always say, "At least I amuse myself.")

Love your card. Your colouring is fab!

Hobbies....hmmm...can we count sports as a hobby? (I'm going to pretend you said yes.) I play fastball in the spring/summer and volleyball in the fall/winter.

Hobbies..hmmm... Before crafting, there was a time when I was really into orchids. Really pretty flowers. But I got over-excited and bought 300 plants on ebay in one hit. That is how one hobby became a chore.

I've had lots of hobbies in the past. I used to paint, make jewelry, draw, gardening. I even tried word working which didn't work out so well even though it still interests me :) I love hobbies and would do them all, all the time if I could!

and believe it or not, I actually read more than I paper craft. I keep extra books so I never go without a 'back up' for when I finish one. I MUST read every single day.
