i'm tuting (tooting?!) it up at Some Odd Girl today!

mornin', chickens!  BRRRRR.  it's flippin' cold here - it's wrong to be scraping frost off my windshield at the end of March.  i'm OVER this cold weather and want to wear my pretty springy suits!

anywho.  life is good, and today is no exception.  i've got a little tutorial for you today at the Some Odd Girl blog - a hint about bending stamps and balancing round cards...  the post goes live at 9 am EST, but here's a sneak for you!

i won't give up the deets, but i had a little fun with my border stamp and have the knack for making cards that stand up.  :)  i'm just sayin'!

also, if you're looking for some additional fun, we've got a GAME for you at Some Odd World (our Ning community).  if you're not already a member there, you're missing out!  there are Ning-only challenges, discounts and special features that aren't available to our Facebook friends or on our blog!  CLICK HERE to get started, or to check it all out!

a Sunday afternoon a(flair)

hey there, chickens!

sadly, the weekend's almost over.  happily, i got crafty!  i have a super busy week ahead of me, but i'm glad to have the 9 am shift instead of the 7:30 am shift for the next two weeks.  i get a LOT done in that extra hour and a half before work (hellooooo, SOGgy blog!).

SO.

there WAS a flairy thing going on at Paper Issues, and i have seen so much of the stuff popping up all over the place, i think i've fallen in love with it again.  can't wait to start checking out the craft fairs this spring and summer to see what fun little pins show up!

i, um, did some *cough* shopping at Paper Issues recently, like, a few times, and there's some HOT new washi tape there that i had to grab.  now that i've used a few strips of washi, i can justify shopping again.  lullz.  :)

here's my card, with a little bit of Paperchase flair (from when Borders closed their doors for good - sniff, sob!):

grabbed that cute heart washi and the little journaling card from Paper Issues (i love the little kits Cassie puts together!), the red dot washi from Love My Tapes, the stamps are from Some Odd Girl (natch!) and, um, jute.

now there's a new thing going on that Some Odd Girl is sponsoring, so i have a new project to work on, 'cuz it's too fun to resist!  happy Sunday, chickens.  rest up, 'cuz the week's about to start up all over again!

joining in the fun over at The Craft Barn (their theme is "P", so i went with Polaroid), as well as The ABC Challenge (it's "J" for "just as you like" - so anything goes!).   :)

It's the TIMELESSLY ODD HOP! Twine meets Tweet!

***CLICK HERE for the Friends of True's Inky Blog Hop!***

GOOD MORNING!  :)
Do you know what today is, chickens?  It's the one we Odd Girls have been waiting for!  Glad you're here!

The Twine-istas and the Odd Girls are happy to welcome you to their first collaborative BLOG HOP!

Some Odd Girl and Timeless Twine decided to get together for a little playdate, and we are SO pleased you've joined us! We hope you'll find plenty of inspiration as you make your way around to all of the designers' personal blogs, and be sure to leave a little love at each stop along the way, because there are THREE gorgeous spools of Timeless Twine and one $25 gift certificate to Some Odd Girl up for grabs! Our hop, now being lovingly referred to as "The Timelessly Odd Hop", runs now through Sunday, March 17th at midnight EST, so you have plenty of time to make your way around the circuit. It's a big hop, 'cuz we have TONS of amazing designers who were absolutely excited to combine their love for all things cute, quirky, clever, and crafty, so take your time and ENJOY YOUR JOURNEY!

We did that whole product swap thing, and I was SO excited to get me a big ol' roll of Pumpkin Orange and White twine for me to do with as I choose...  So I chose...

I used Tweet Kaylee, and paired her up with the banner stamp from the Make a Statement clear set, plus the "SMILE" stamp from the Everyday Smiles clear set, and proceeded to fill the letters in!  :)  I had some fun punchin' and threadin' and distressin' but stuck with a relatively simple layout to properly showcase Kaylee with the Timeless Twine.  :)  This card was a LOT of fun to make!

Here's my gal Kaylee, all blown up and coloured in Prismacolor Pencils:

But we're not going to ask you folks to MAKE anything (although we wouldn't dare stop you from doing so!)... We just want you to visit all of the stops along the way and let yourself be inspired!  Just remember to leave a comment at each stop, and visit us at the Some Odd Girl blog at the usual time on Monday, March 18th for our announcements!  Good luck, everybody!  :D

You should have made it to the Chronicles by way of Twine-istea Kristy...  BUT, if you've just dropped by randomly and haven't been hopping from the beginning, here's how it's all going down:

So there's your hop list! From here, you're off to visit the totally quirky and utterly LOVELY Lou Mac!  You don't have to visit everyone in order, but you do have to visit EVERYONE if you want to win the goodies!  Just say hi, leave 'em a little love, and you're in the running! And that's your cue, friends! Our winners will be announced on Monday, March 18th. Happy hopping, and GOOD LUCK!

True's Friends are INKY, SWIRLY and HOPPIN'!

Welcome to the Friends of True's Swirly Spring BLOG HOP! If you are here from Lydia's blog, you are in great shape! If you just happened across the Chronicles, you may want to head back to True's blog where all the magic begins! There will be a prize package donated by Inky Antics that includes True's entire, newly released, Swirly Spring stamp line - and by the time you're finished hoppin', I promise you are going to NEED those stamps!

I had the pleasure and fortune of receiving Swirly Butterflies in the mail, along with some coordinating papers, and I couldn't wait to get at them!  I'm sharing two cards with you today...  (click any of the images to enlarge)

LOVE colouring these flutters.  They're simple, the lines are so clean and easy, the quality is great and the impression is wonderful, and there's so much you can do with them!  I love the papers, too - they're bright and happy, and they just OOZE warm weather (of which we are experiencing NONE at the moment, thankyouverymuch).  I coloured both with Copics (for a change) - here are the cards, up close and personal:

You KNOW you want to colour them, too!  But don't take my word for it...  There are a TON of talented crafty folks in the hop list who had just as much fun working with these images (and sentiments! - the Swirly Butterflies set comes with 2 butterflies, 3 sentiments, and a little bouquet of flowers!), you're going to want to see what those OTHER folks have to say, too!  :D

I actually REALLY enjoyed my Copics for this little assignment:

And there you have it!  Whatcha think?  Leave me a comment below, and I promise to let True know about every single compliment she receives for these beautiful designs.  :D

Are you ready to continue along your journey?  Well here's your hop list, folks, in case you're like me and stink with the navigational skills...  It's so easy to click and get lost in the Blogosphere!  :)

Be sure to comment at each stop in order to increase your chances of winning the prize package. One lucky commenter from a randomly picked blog will win all 6 stamp sets! You have this weekend to make your way around all the stops, and leave your comments by Sunday night.  The winner will be announced on True's Blog on Monday, March 11th. From here, you're going to skip on over to Lovely Linda's blog... Tell her I said hello! :) And I know you're gonna LURRRRRVE what you see there!

Thanks for dropping by today, and I'll see you in 2 hours with another hop!

***linked up at Paper Issues' new Pocket Full of Sunshine theme on 4/3/14!***
