(and since you're HERE, then that means you are, too, right?!)
we haven't had a BLOG HOP since Design Dollies' inception last OCTOBER (can you believe it's been nearly a YEAR already?), so we discussed, we decided, and we're makin' it happen, and HOOOO, boyo, it's a good one!
okay folks, read carefully! :D
didja see our fabulous BANNER at the top of the Design Dollies blog? well, each doll pictured was carefully selected to represent each Dollie at his or her finest… lots of unique personalities are shown in our banner, and SOME of our Design Dollies would like to know if you can guess which one represents them! if you guess correctly, you might be REWARDED... ;) you can also click on each of the Dollies' photos in the right sidebar on our blog to get a little insight into our personalities (which MAY be helpful for those Dollies asking you to guess their DOLL. there's a little something special at each stop along our Dollie-hop, so you REALLY should leave a comment for each of the Dollies (it could totally be worth your while!)... other Dollies may ask for something different, so be sure to READ! :D
if you're visiting me via our darling Metal_Minish's blog, Nerd Scrap, then you're on the right track (and likely wiping up lots of drool)! if not, you can get your little party started... at the Dollhouse! (you'll be back here soon, hopefully!)
since you're HERE, i'd like to share a little something special i created JUST for today's event. :) we all wanted to do something that really shows our true COLOURS, so here ya go:
i'm not going to ask you to try to identify my Doll in the banner, because i think that's a pretty easy one. BUT i will ask that you leave me a comment and GUESS what i used for my wooden pieces on my page. you don't have to get it right, but you do have to guess! :) OH, and a bonus entry for anyone who creates a brand spankin' new ORANGE project - be it a tag or an ATC or a handmade embellie, it's all good! (just for this "challenge" though - no combining!) post it on your blog and leave the URL for that post in your comment (with your guess!) and you'll get two entries for a YUMMY batch of candy...
(some kraft, coredinations, sei, k & company, little yellow bicycle, mulberry paper, lotsa
buttons, primas, felt flowers and clips, ribbons and trims, journaling tags, some bling and more!)
OUR BLOG HOP ENDS AT 10:00 PM EST on SUNDAY, JULY 25th, so be sure to leave ALL of your comments and link up any projects before then! (some of the Dollies have extended their deadlines, but the OFFICIAL end time is 10 pm)
now that you've checked ME out, your next stop is Chiqui's "Snapshots" blog - off you go! (hope you're sitting down - that girl will ROCK YOUR SOCKS OFF!) and remember to LEAVE A COMMENT! (you must must must do this at every stop along the hop if you want to be eligible for our goodies!) after your last stop, BACK TO THE DOLLHOUSE to leave us a comment letting us know you've completed the hop!
Hi there Dolly-Girl! Who's idea was this anyhow??? It's so much FUN! Looking very serene in that photo.....lovely LO.
ReplyDeleteHey gorgeous, what a devine pic of you! I love it when you scrap layouts and this one is just magic.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I'm trying to figure out what you used?!!! It certainly looks like real wood. Ummm, maybe you split some old wooden pegs?!!
ReplyDeleteHi Miss Orange! Love that photo with your caption! Beautiful flowers and I love the wood you used!
ReplyDeleteDeanne :)
Soooooooooooooooooooooooo fun!!!! I love love love love that lo...love the colors and those flowers...and to me it looks like a piece of bark! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this layout Leah! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteOooh, that's HARD... LOL... You go girl!
ReplyDeleteYUMMY YUMMY ORANGE..my favorite colors...
ReplyDeleteI would guess a popsicle stick. thanks for the awesome inspiration.
Love the page! I did get in on the blog hop, but I'm leaving for the weekend so I won't be able to create anything orange to share. My guess for the wooden things, is a big popsicle stick. That you ripped and inked up abit.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great layout! I'm guessing the wood is paint stirrers!
ReplyDeleteHmm, I think it is a paint stirrer that you've distressed...
ReplyDeleteLove it your layout. Based on your layout I think your the little girl in the back on the header!
ReplyDeleteOh, I forgot about the piece of wood, I think it's a piece of chipboard that you've colored to look like wood and deistressed.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful page. I think you used stripped a of old wood from an old book shelf or something like that.
ReplyDeleteYour journaling fits the picture perfectly! Awesome layout...loving the flowers & the trims!
ReplyDeleteYou know I love this page, it's so awesome! Filled with all kinds of cool Leah'ness! That's one yummy batch of stuff you're giving away too, looking forward to seeing who the lucky winner will be!
ReplyDeleteI purposely didn't read the other comments, so this is my guess: popsicle stick? Looks like you snapped and altered one.
ReplyDeleteLove your page, babe. And it's good to see you doing a page!!! :) Though I do love your cards!
Your LO is sooooo awesome!!! I am NO good at guessing games, seriously! I think the wood looks like cardboard you've (very cleverly I might add cos it looks fab) ripped, painted/inked to look like wood, so there you go!!! Yummy candy and I KNOW from experience your candy winners are VERY lucky ;-) :-) xxxx
ReplyDeleteWow, it is so NOT EASY to pick which dolly is which! Leah, your LO is gorgeous, you look so peaceful in that photo........not sure what sort of wood you have used, but it looks like a piece of Aussie paperbark to me! Which is probably way off!!
ReplyDeleteI think: bark from an old tree branch.
ReplyDeleteWhatever it is it's an amazing result.
Can't wait to find out...
Am loving the blog hop :)
First let me say i totaly can NOT see you as the quiet type....I'd think you were up to something....just sayin :) I was gonna guess "wood" for the wood piece....hahahaha.....looks kinda like cardboard, that is if I am even looking at the right place. Wicked cool LO tho...LOVE it! Will be back later with my orange project hopefully!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that is YOU!! Wow! I love the layout too. And I think the wood is tongue depressors. You wanted our best guess, there you go!
ReplyDeleteHoppin on ...
Oh yeah, and I remember that first blog hop. think I won some shwag! :)
Hmmm it looks like a real pice of wood. Maybe from a fence.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your LO - I especially like the paint effects and the wood which i think is probably something you have recycled, like slats from a wooden venetian blind or a broken chair. Will try to do an orange project - but I'm off on vacation tomorrow and may not have time!
ReplyDeleteThanks for a great blog hop! And thanks for every time you've left comments on my blog! Xx
Hey Leah girlie! Love your LO it totally rocks i think you've used some actually bark from a tree but probably wrong LOL x
ReplyDeletewhat an amazing page! The cluttering of the embellishments is perfect!
ReplyDeleteLove everything of your LO! The color combination, the flowers's placement, the journaling, the inking techniques.
ReplyDeleteMy guess for the wood is the sticks one uses for house painting that you buy at a hardware store, along with your paint.
Fab LO! Seriously is it not wood!!! I will guess some sort of tree bark stamped with a wood grain stamp in white???? Robin
ReplyDeleteWell, I would have to guess tree bark, or building debris, such as old wood panelling, if you have had some work done lately, but it is soo hard to tell! What a beautiful page! I have loved playing blog hop! It is so interesting to get an insight to each persons style, and see what everyone creates. Love it!
ReplyDeleteBeck
Hi again, gorgeous girl. I'm not entering, but I did create an orange project, at your request ;) It's here for your viewing pleasure xx
ReplyDeleteYummy yummy yummy... love the layout and I know what you used which was a great idea but... I am not going to tell. Lovely job!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like tree bark, just a bit peeled off a birch. I used to love doing that when I was a kid! Shoot, I don't know if I can make an orange project by the deadline, but maybe I'll give it a go (after my run, darn that exercise habit!)
ReplyDeleteHi Leah! I love your work - so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSo my guess is that you used some pieces of styrofoam - like from a take-out container.
And here's a link to my blog post about the orange ribbon flower I made today http://apianoplaysinanemptyroom.blogspot.com/2010/07/id-probably-jump-in-ocean.html
wow leah your pages are AWEOSME!!! Just blog hoping over:)
ReplyDeleteHmm the wood looks like something recycled.. maybe a broken piece of furniture or something... whatever it is YOURE AMAZING!
i added this too late to my blog but wanted to share http://buttercupsandblossomsscrap.blogspot.com/2010/07/dollies-blog-hop-challenges.html
