Sneakin' Peeks, ALL WEEK, at Some Odd Girl!

i'm in LOVE.

Some Odd Girl does it again! i'm seriously in LOVE with these brand new holiday stamps (these are clear stamps, not digis, but there's another digi release coming soon, too!). they stamp so nicely, there are fun accessory and sentiment accompaniments, and, as always, the images are a DREAM to colour. so it was no surprise when i almost couldn't stop myself from colouring up DOZENS of my new girl, Tree Trimmin Kaylee - and the ornaments are awesome for paper piecing!

so yeah, i'm sharing my sneak today of what could quickly become one of my all-time fave SOGgies, and you REALLY ought to skootch over to the Some Odd Girl challenge blog to see what the rest of the Odd Girls have done! this set's a beauty!

i have been playing around with those fun, non-traditional Christmas colours - isn't this Cosmo Cricket paper fabulous?!

and here's m'girl, in all her glory:

aren't those little bells on her socks and hairband ADORABLE?!

and i'm tellin' ya, paper piecing with this set is a BREEZE and the effect is fantastic.

the heavy black lines make it easy to trim the shapes - i can see myself making a hundred of these cards with different borders and patterned papers for gift sets. LOVE THAT!

it's a Some Odd Girl HOLIDAY EXTRAVAGANZA!

good morning, craftily Odd friends!

did you happen to notice that little Some Odd Girl icon in my sidebar these last couple of weeks? did you think to yourself, "hmm, the holidays are still kinda far away - it's not even Halloween yet!", by any chance? wellllllll, as of right now, there are only 101 days until Christmas Eve, and i, for one, am determined to be a LITTLE more prepared this year!

feeling ODD?! join us for a challenge that will have you in STITCHES!

hiya! it's time! we Odd Girls have been busy indeed! gearing up for a new release that's right around the corner (we'll be sharing sneaks next week, in fact!), and filling up galleries and our Pinterest board, and always having fun with the challenges because we LOVE working with SOGgies!

today, we have a challenge that, i must admit, was NOT among my faves. but hey, it's a challenge, so i embraced it! it just took me a little longer than usual, both to figure out what i wanted to do, and to actually execute it.

we want to see STITCHING on your projects!

i could have done the faux stitching technique, which doesn't
make me uncomfortable in the least, but instead i did THIS:

that's my girl, Sigh Mae, lookin' all pensive and cute! don't you just love her?!

i stitched the grass and all around the card with twine and went for a slightly clean and simple design. do you want to bust out your sewing machine or your needle and thread and join us for this challenge? of COURSE there's always a prize to be won, and you should see the favourites we selected from our paper piecing challenge! it's a busy week here, and i've been frantically trying to start on the notecard sets for the craft fair on the 24th, so i'm THRILLED to have gotten my Slice in the mail yesterday! i have lots to learn though, and need to make sure i'm using the thing properly so i can make it last! quite a nice value for a whopping $29.99! woot!
