How FROU FROU are you?

i'm here to share a pretty little something i created using the new Frou Frou stamps from Crafter's Companion!  this one's called Tipsy, and while she looks ridiculously cute sitting in that margarita glass, she still looks classy and elegant with the get-up and that little parasol, doesn't she?  :)  the girl's just chillin' while waiting for someone to put another drink in her lonely little hand!   :)

YES!

i seriously just loved her in a classic color palette, and rather than embellishing with a ton of things, i stuck to total simplicity, with some fun and slightly unusual (for me) embellies...  the pearls to mimic her necklace, and the flower a big 3d punch i got a few months back but never used.  (i know, surprise, surprise!)  the paper is from Glitz Design and the sentiment is from the Tipsy set - cute, right?!

here she is, colored up with my Prismacolor Pencils
(is it just me, or does the photo seem, like, WAY fuzzy?)...

here's my Prisma list, for those of you who still play with pencils and kick it ol' skool like me!  :)

Skin - 1093, 1019  Cheeks - 929  Lips - 925
Hair - 1052, 1056, 1058
Dress - 1088, 1065, 1060
Shoes - 925
Umbrella - 924, 928, 1056, 1068, 942, 948, 916, 1005, 1091
Glass - 1023, 1025, 1065

so i didn't really do much to create the card, but i was really happy with the stitching detail - it's small but impactful!  i cut the 6x6 sheet down the center unevenly with scissors, overlapped the two halves, and backstitched the whole height of the card. check out the whole Frou Frou line at Crafter's Companion, and i just DARE you to try to narrow it down to pick your faves.  they're FUN to color and give a bit of extra forgiveness because the lines aren't so thin and clean.  the sketchy, artistic look really works for a vintage/shabby style (although it's not MY style, per se), and if you click each stamp on the Frou Frou page, you'll see gallery samples that accompany the stamps, and the vintage style some of the designers are rocking!  :)

that's it for tonight - i have a SUPER busy weekend ahead, and only a couple of workdays before i leave for SEATTLE!  can't possibly explain how excited i am about this trip, and i'm DEFINITELY going to bring some coloring to occupy me when i have some down time!  HAPPY FRIDAY, chickens, and i hope you have a wonderful weekend!  xo

by the way...

kind of a big day here - there's something kinda super awesome going on at Some Odd Girl, and trust me, you'll want to check it out!

Hoppin' at Scrapmaster's Paradise!

Welcome to the SP & Company April Blog Hop! I'm guesting this month (thank you, Sami!), and I'll be showcasing my creations using goodies over the next few weeks.  :)

Today I'm thrilled to be a part of this fun little hop-a-long, and I know you're going to love what you see along the way!

Last month, SP & Company introduced Die Tools, with more coming out this month! And you're TOTALLY going to want to check out the new SP Storage Binder System for wonderfully simple and fabby organization of dies and stamps.

Annnnnnd, some huge news!  This month a brand new artist joins the SP family - Gill Roberts! - and I'm sharing my first project today using one of her sweet clear stamps. You'll see a bunch of Gill along the hop, including some HOT new coordinating dies.  :)  Yeah, we love dies.  I know you do, too.

Scrapmaster's Paradise is now IN COLOR with the release of six new SP exclusive colors, and believe me when I say they're DROOL-WORTHY. This exclusive color line now includes button mixtures and coordinating premium chalk ink pads.  The ink pads will begin shipping mid-month, but the buttons are available starting right now!  CLICKING HERE will take you to all the fun new releases at the store.  :)  The button mixtures come in PERFECT little metal tins for easy storage and organization (espesh for those of you who like the magnetic system!)...  Check out the yummalish ink and button colors:

Yep.  Want.  ALL.

So....  I played, and combined a few fun SP & Company products.  Check it!

Colored her with COPICS (yeah, I know - weird!)...  Kept the layout simple so I could focus on the image, added in a little banner (since the Trends Challenge going on right now is Banners and Flags - enter through April 16th!), and added those lurrrrrvely buttons!  There are some gorje colors in the button selection, so you'll want to check them out with the rest of the new products by CLICKING HERE.

Close-up on Skating Girl:

And close-up on the banner/buttons:

Sadly, the cardstock didn't photograph well AT ALL - it's this gorgeous shimmery/iridescent pink and the bling really picks up on the color, but here it just looks like a scratchy, bland surface.  BOO.  OH!  And the sentiment is from another set from the Gill Roberts collection, "Best Mom Ever".  LOVE the quality of these stamps - they are crisp and clear on the very first impression!

So.  What do you need to know?  That we're HOPPIN' at SP & Company, and you should join us!  If you arrived here from Melissa's blog, then you're on the right track.  Kelli is your next stop!  You'll find the rules on Sami's blog, so check out all the designers' blogs, and comment along the way, then be sure to end up Chez Sami!  Happy hopping, and thanks for stopping by!  :)

oh, and for those of you who have been following my little journey into homeownership (current house is in hubbin's name only - this is a new chapter for me/us!), the bank ordered the appraisal on the house, and i, personally, have a feeling we'll know by the end of this week whether they'll accept our offer.  if they do, and i'm feeling pretty optimistic about it, we'll be applying for a mortgage soon, and getting our condo ready to list!  WOO HOO!  wish me luck, folks!

My head's in the clouds

seriously, it's ALLERGY SEASON, and my head is feeling kinda wonky lately.  tonight is no exception!  my eyes are itchy and watery, i'm all kinds of sniffly, and i REFUSE to take any allergy pills because even the non-drowy ones knock me out.  i will NOT go to sleep before midnight tonight!

i'm crafting.  and i just finished this little project, which has been swimming around in my brain for about a week.  Paper Issues is wrapping up their "up in the clouds" theme tonight, and i'm thrilled to have found some quiet time to do what needed to be done.  :)

here's my card, using some yummy Studio Calico wood veneers (from the PaperIssues etsy shop), some vintage lace and a giant brad from my stash, and a bottom scrap of My Mind's Eye paper:

now that i've been bitten by the bug, i need to get this grocery shopping out of the way so i can get back home and bust out my Prismacolor Pencils.  i have a couple of things to finish up so i can share!  hope your weekend is going fabulously, chickens!  xo
