Some Odd Girl's fond farewell blog hop!

Hello, Odd friends, and welcome to Some Odd Girl‘s Fond Farewell blog hop for the 2014-15 Design Team!

The Odd Girls have had a VERY exciting year, with lots of fun events, new shop items we fell in love with, a great presence at CHA, and a whole ton of fun new releases to color and share!  We are grateful for the friendships made, the amazing inspiration from our teammates and from our Oddie friends, and for all the support the crafty world has shown us as Some Odd Girl continues to grow and expand.

Today, and for the next week, we invite you to hop with the whole team and take a little journey with us through the last year as Odd Girls.

At each Odd Girl‘s blog, you’ll find 3 of her very favorite projects created during her term, and at each Odd Girl‘s blog, there will be a digi to win.  Leave your comments at each stop, and be sure to check out the main blog HERE for the full hop list and a chance to win one grand prize.  How much damage could you do with $25 to spend at the Some Odd Girl store?  Lots of digis?  Some new clear stamps and sequins?  Maybe twine in every color?  :)

We hop now through Tuesday, March 31st at midnight EST, when we say goodbye to the current team and get ready to kick off a whole new term.  Are you ready to hop?

My three favourite projects for you include some new and old goodies from the Some Odd Girl store...  I jump around a lot and don't like to neglect my older images, so without further ado, my faves this year....

This happy guy!  From our Hip Hop Hooray clear stamp set - I had fun mixing embellies on this card and I was really happy with the way the fur came out!  :)

And this dude...  Because I can't think of anything more dashing and debonair than a British octopus wearing a monocle, can you?  (Mr. Octopus clear stamp set)

And this girl!  We introduced Piper to the Some Odd Girl family of cute and quirky characters, and the whole team fell in love with her spunky curls!  She's SO much fun to colour, and you'll be seeing much more of her in the months to come!  Here's my giveaway for you...  Shopping Piper (digi stamp):

Comment below and you could win Shopping Piper!  Comment on EVERY Odd Girl's blog post and you could win a digi there, too!  CLICK HERE and check out the whole hop, and THANK YOU for being ODD!  It's my favourite way to be.  ;)

there are some awesome games.  and challenges, including stencils... stitches... pocket pages... glitter... scraplifting... music... a huge title... our free cut files and printables... grids... and the one that might make you go "OOOHHHH!"... a page or spread about YOU - it could earn you a 4-month spot on the Paper Issues Creative Team.  awwww, yeaaaahhh!

here's mine, featuring the utterly and RIDICULOUSLY pretty Bella Rouge line from Pink Paislee:

everything but the doily, the stars and the punchinella is from that line.  it's BEAUTIFUL.  and if you want to get in on the challenge to become the next PI girl, CLICK HERE!

there's more, but i'll save that for another post.  get in on the action - there are a bazillion people all around the world cropping with us, and all of the challenges are open until midnight March 29th (next Monday).  :)

a sketchy Saturday CARD for Paper Issues today!

hey there, chickens!

you know we do this thing at Paper Issues where we throw down a sketch and ask you to make something based on it, yeah?  well this month, our girl Jennifer Chapin has whipped up a sketch that I LOVED in a serious way and totally challenged myself because it's totes outside of my comfort zone.  GRIDS.  i don't do 'em.  i struggle with boundaries and symmetry for the most part, so when i saw the March sketch, i knew i had to jump in.

so.  in all its griddy goodness, here's my card, featuring some disguised goodies from the February Swag Bag (the March one is coming - stay tuned, or grab a subscription so you don't miss any!):

YES.  grid.  but i transformed it into a card, because that's what you do with sketches!  you use them as a starting point for your crafty endeavour, and you go to town.  here's the sketch for you to try on for size:

well?  fab, right?  if you get in on this sketchy action, link up your project by March 20th and you might be the lucky winner of a $10 gift certificate to the Paper Issues store!  annnnnd, you know you can get lots of awesome stuff for $10, right?  but it goes even further when you use this:

that might come in handy when you stock up on some of the brand new Bella Blvd stuff that's just arrived...

in orange NEWS... I have ISSUES!

hey hey, chickens!  happy Sunday, and happy March, and let's hope it's out like a lamb because i'm totally over winter.

today, i've got some ISSUES to share!  i am so excited and ridiculously happy to announce that i have returned to the Creative Team at Paper Issues!

some of you know that 2014 ended roughly for me, and 2015 is off to a difficult start (it's only gonna get harder, but i can handle it!).  but i got a serious mojo boost a few weeks ago and i'm happy to be creating again.  today, i'm sharing my first "therapy" layout, honouring my awesome Dad...  CLICK HERE to see it up close and what goodies i used, and then buy them.  :)  code ORANGE always gets you 20% off your whole Paper Issues order!

here we go:

some FUN items on this page, including the gold doily and triangle sequins from Some Odd Girl's Odds & Ends section - the rest can ALLLLLLL be found in the Paper Issues store.

i miss this man every single day, and i have trouble keeping my focus as he creeps into my thoughts, but i LOVED making this page, and i love looking at it.  it's exactly what he and i have always been about.

GO HERE for my Paper Issues introduction and see my "issues" and check out the Current Issue, sponsored by A Flair for Buttons - not only can you win a great prize package from them, but there's a free cut file you can download...  the Paper Issues girls are a talented bunch!  this cut file was designed by the lovely Kathy Skou!
