Meow ya doin'? NEW digis from Some Odd Girl!

it's time for a little fantasy fun with Some Odd Girl!

we kicked off another digi release this week with a cute little gal who's sure to nuzzle her way into your heart! say hello to my new feline friend, KITTY TIA!

she's all coloured up with my Prismas, natch, with a bit Cosmo Cricket (23) and Making Memories paper, Doodlebug and Jenni Bowlin alphas, and some little gemmies coloured with my Copics, 'cuz i ran out of black ones!

i love her jaunty little pose, and i thought i'd go for a slightly more literal interpretation of the whole CAT thing (i do love the kitties) and went tiger-stripey just for the fun of it.

new Some Odd Girl sketch challenge, and meet the new Odd Girls!

morning, crafty peeps! what's new in blogland? i've been mostly quiet, with LOTS going on in my personal life, so it's great to be here today, posting something fun and exciting!

today, we are kicking off a brand new sketch challenge at Some Odd Girl, but we are ALSO saying hello to four brand new ladies joining the design team as Odd Girls! :) it's going to be a fantastic 8 months, i promise!

so it's a new month, and it's time for a sketch challenge! (yep, i know we did a sketch last month, but it was awesome, and we loads of participation, and we thought we'd start the new term with another!) i went for VERY clean and simple, and stamped out the totally adorbs Mooey for my card. behold!

don't you just love this little cow?! there are very few critter stamps i actually enjoy playing with, but we have lots of excitement ahead in this department at Some Odd Girl, and i am still udderly smitten with Kristy's animals! here's a close-up with my moo, coloured up with Copics:

annnnnd here's the sketch in question - when i said clean and simple, i meant it! i went for a very literal translation of this one!

the only thing i did differently was flipped the sketch so the circular element was on the right, but there you have it! and this is just another example of the FREEDOM you have when interpreting our sketches! flip it, rotate it, change the orientation, add or subtract elements... as long as we can see the sketch, you are golden!

just ONE colour with the Charisma Galz!

morning folks, and YEP, it's been a crazy, fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants couple of weeks, indeed! first there was a trip to Canada to move my son up there (he's living with his father now, much to my chagrin) - that was emotionally exhausting, and it's weird not having him around the house. :(

but then it was preparing for CHA, where Some Odd Girl took the crafting world by storm! ;) we had a lot of fun, met a TON of fabulous people, and added some wonderful new wholesalers to our list. woot!

after CHA, i returned to a whirlwind day of cleaning and preparing for my best friend's arrival - he's staying with me all this week and i return to work on Monday, so we're cramming in some fun things, including Princeton, IKEA, the Franklin Institute, Atlantic City (where i won some cash last night - yay!) and a day on Long Beach Island to enjoy some strolling, gorgeous scenery, and the best clam chowder in the WORLD.

so yep, like i said, BUSY! which is why you haven't seen diddly squat from me since the beginning of the month! let's try to fix that, now that things are SOMEWHAT settled down, shall we?

i'm starting off with this week's Charisma challenge... LOVED this one, because i am such a bright colour, throw it all down and layer it all up kinda gal - it's fun to restrict myself sometimes and i typically like the end result. this is no exception!

i started off with a cute little kitteh that appeared on a colour sample from one of the paint companies (hubbin was painting The Son's room and couldn't resist grabbing it for me). fussy-cut him and picked out a stamp set (Studio G) with a birdcage and sentiment i liked for the card. BasicGrey and Cosmo Cricket papers, American Crafts ribbons, flowers from Recollections and brads from my stash, and Bob's my uncle! :) weird, though, how the flowers almost have a pinkish/purplish undertone in the photo - i assure you they're grey!

'cuz there's a fabby little LURRRRVE challenge going on at Moxie Fab World, and stamping has to be the main theme. yeah, so i made this lil' cahhhhd, featuring two little tweeties i never got to use from CKC two years ago! stamped, masked, stamped the second little twitter, stamped the hearts and sentiment, DONE. once i busted it out again, i decided i needed to outline some stuff with a Gelly Roller white pen, i inked, and added some orange (!!!) trim, 'cuz it's my fave. :)

it's Stamp It! cards week, and i'm playing along with the LOVE CARD CHALLENGE!

and how much do i lurve KRAFT?! oh, my heart a-splode. sometimes it's just the most PERFECTEST thing in my crafty little world. this was one of those occasions. :)
