focus on PATTERNS at Charisma!

woot!  my challenge this week at Charisma, and i couldn't wait to see what the Charisma Galz would do with this one!  i want to see AT LEAST 5 PATTERNED PAPERS on your projects, and while i know that may sound nutty (well, it's me, so it could very well BE nutty!), i must let you know that Team Carly made it look SO easy!

right.  so.  the challenge.  RIGHT HERE.  you've got a week - this one ends next Wednesday, so let's see you rock it!  if you want a tip, it's SUPER easy to do with a simple repetition working within one line from any paper company... 

i mixed it up with 2 - We R Memory Keepers' "Antique Chic" line, and My Mind's Eye's "Everyday Flair".  here's what i came up with (sadly, it seems i've been making more sympathy cards than anything else lately - ugh):

there's a total of 7 patterns here - 6 for the scalloped circles, and one subtle layer across the top of the card.  easy peasy!

so that's one easy way to A) combine a whole slew of patterns without making it look busy or chaotic; and B) use up scraps, if you're buried under a mountain of 'em!  :)

Charisma's got a one-layer challenge up!

howdy, crafty chickens!  it's a SUPER dreary Saturday in South Jersey, and all i wanna do is get my craft on.  unfortunately, my priority is a sympathy card, which is not my favorite by any means, but it has to be done.  if i get to it and behave, i can reward myself with some more fun crafting, so i'm going to make this short and sweet!

Charisma's challenge this week is ONE-LAYER CARDS.  it kicked off Thursday and runs through Wednesday, and it's a challenge for me, so i decided that i'd play, even though it's Team Gem's week...  ready?  here's the card i whipped up, using some fussy cutting with gorgeous DCWV paper, a big old stamp from MSE!, a couple of quick pearls, and my trusty MS scoring board:

here's what i created using some older BasicGrey paper (Bittersweet - love that pad but seldom bust it out!), letters cut from my trusty Slice, some Making Memories blingy shapes and a Some Odd Girl digi -  Spunky Sprite - she's totally my FAVE fairy so far (but stay tuned, 'cuz there's something fun around the cornah!)...  ANNNNND i'm quite pleased to say she's my first Spectrum Noir project who's made it to a card!  yep, colored her up with Speccie markers (i only bought 2 sets, so i was literally working with 6 colors here).  here she is!

whatcha think?  not horrible, right?  well she's quite content, sitting up there, and i'm thinking that the sentiment is PERFECT for what's going on chez l'Orange right now...  hubbin and i are putting a bid on a house tomorrow, and we know there's another bid out there (it's a short sale), so we're REALLY hoping things will fall into place.  i have to BELIEVE that good things come to those who wait, and that if it's meant to be, it's gonna happen.  now i just have to remember to BREATHE!  :)

It's a CUTE partaaaay!

so i heard that Paper Issues is doing another fun linky party, and their theme is CUTE!  of course they're sponsored by the VERY cute Lawn Fawn, so it's a perfect match for the occasion, dontcha think?  i wanted to play along, because i think i have some seriously cute stamps, so here's what i brought to the party!

so the stamp set is Lawn Fawn's On the Mend stamp set, paired up with some Little Yellow Bicycle trims and Cosmo Cricket's 23 papers.  you know how the bandaids have that little puffy pad in the center?  well i puffed it up with a little pop-dot, and thought i'd play up on the idea of a bandaid sticking things together.  :)  does this qualify for CUTE?!
