a couple of challenges for ya

mornin', folks. i know i've been pretty quiet of late, but i'm hanging in there and trying to hold it all together. i've had very little mojo, but decided i needed to do something to clear my mind the other day, so i've combined my Some Odd Girl and Charisma challenges into one little project.

first, Charisma is looking for LACE AND PEARLS on your creations this week. make it as girlie and elegant or vintagey or anything - i took a slightly different approach but i thought it worked well. :)

second, at Some Odd Girl, we have a recipe for you. we want to see a NON white or kraft card base, two patterned papers, a die-cut or punched shape (or more than one, if you like), and buttons. mmmm, buttons. i love those little embellies.

here's my card for BOTH challenges, featuring one of my favourite
digi combos from SomeOddGirl.com, "Toasted and Toastie":

aren't they a cute little pair?

AND, since Some Odd Girl is one of this week's Charisma challenge sponsors,

the other one being the lovely Stamping Boutique,

it's a match made in heaven.

SO, click HERE if you want to join this week's Charisma challenge and enter to win free digis from Some Odd Girl or The Stamping Boutique, and check out what my fantabulatious Charisma Galz teamies have done. you have until next Wednesday to play along (remember you can only enter up to 10 challenges or you won't be eligible).

and click HERE to go to the Some Odd Girl challenge, which last two weeks (projects due by Tuesday, November 29th at midnight EST) - you can win free digis if you're our winner, we feature a couple of our favourite submissions when we post our winner, and we may pin your work to our Pinterest board.

so glad it's almost the weekend. i intend to get reacquainted with my mojo. take care, kids. xox

there's a new Some Odd Girl challenge

and i couldn't see myself using ANYTHING but a Nouveau Girl for my card.

HERE is the challenge at Some Odd Girl for the next two weeks.... we want to see you create something using this as your inspiration:

it's lovely art by Alphonse Mucha, who is known as "the father of Art Nouveau" - makes sense when we've just released the Nouveau Girls stamps and website, right?

you may have seen this little lady, BELIEVE, in your hop travels earlier this week, but the frame and the big bouquet of flowers were the pieces here that got me going...

you won't BELIEVE the gorgeous creations from the rest of our Odd Girls for this challenge... go HERE and check them out. you have until Tuesday, November 15th to play along, and take whatever you wish from the inspiration photo (we just need to see what inspired you). go create!

another beautiful Nouveau Girl to share

good morning, crafty friends...

it's a difficult time for me at the Chateau l'Orange, as we await news from the emergency veterinary clinic about my poor Miss Ophelia. we had a very late night, and unfortunately we had to leave her in Levittown while they continue to run tests. it's serious - i won't go into detail because it's far too saddening and i am about to start my day (at work, trying to keep busy and waiting for the phone call), but if anybody has any positive energy to share, or prayers, or meditations, or anything, i'd be very grateful. i'm sure i'll have news one way or another, within a day or two. i might not be in a very good place, but at least i'll know where things stand.

i do, however, want to welcome you back for another peek at the Nouveau Girls - this one's a beauty (but aren't they all?), and i had fun colouring her up and finding some elegant paper to do her justice. meet Grow:

still working on pleats and how to give them proper accents, but i think it's coming along (ideally, i should watch a video or twenty to see other people's amazing techniques). isn't she a pretty one?

you can buy the three Nouveau Girls sets at SomeOddGirl.com right NOW with a dollar off each, and you can hop with us HERE for a chance to win all three sets (be sure to follow all the stops and comment on each one by TONIGHT at midnight EST).

here's what the Grow set looks like:

i didn't use the clouds on this one, but they're making special appearances EVERYWHERE on my cards, so watch for 'em.

i'll be back with some WINNERS from my birthday post at The Odd Girl, but please bear with me - i promise i won't forget. xo
