new SOME ODD GIRL! and Skipping Stones' awesome sketch

so it's been a while since i participated in any challenges, hasn't it? i've kept QUITE busyish with my DT/staffer responsibilities and guest bloggy stuff and the new job, but TONIGHT i had a card to make for my co-worker... her birthday is friday but we're throwing her a little 'do tomorrow, so i saw the sketch at Skipping Stones (hi, Jingle!) and thought it would work great with what i had in mind...

i had intended to get in on the sketch challenge LAST WEEK for SSD, but it just never panned out. i was SO pleased when i saw the new sketch because the card started making itself in my head as soon as i visited their blog today!

and i busted out some of my new BLING (on which i had to sock up on Sunday, because my stash had run DRY!), to play along with the Paper Sundaes' "Something New" challenge

and that's gonna do it for me for tonight... i'll be back around soon - there's still so much going on with my job and the fam recovering from the holidays, and now the new year is about to kick off for so many blogs, including Design Dollies, Some Odd Girl, Make it Colourful and Charisma! OH, and there's a new issue of the Scrapbook News and Review mag coming out soon, so be on the lookout!
