gettin' stuff done!

tallying up the number of christmas cards i've made to date, and realizing i still have a long way to go! the good thing is we'll be up in CANADA over the holidays, so i'll be able to GIVE cards to my friends and family there, and not have to worry about whether they'll arrive before 2010 rolls around. Canada Post is the devil!

so i am working furiously on getting some cards made this weekend, and i've already caught up on my DT obligations, so i'm thrilled to have completed this:

how ADORABLE is the new Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses line? ohmygoomie! love it. the wreath is a handmade embellie i did in my Cafe Mom group, and i was wondering if i'd get around to using it this year! and despite all the varieties out there, my copper brads are still my very favourites.

so in addition to crossing another one off my list, this is for the following challenges:
Basic Grey - sketch (turned it clockwise 90 degrees and used the wreath as a frame instead of a plain ol' square)
Paper Play's Christmas WITHOUT red and green challenge (i've never made a pink and brown christmas card before!)
Creative Card Crew's Christmas challenge
and 2 Red Bananas did a Christmas challenge this week as well.

i'm going to continue to make a mess in the dining room, but am TORN, because my Unity Stamps order arrived today, and it's GORGEOUS... PLUS, a package from Simon Says Stamp arrived - my prize from Simon Says Challenge, and it's TIM HOLTZ GOODIES! i had ordered some alcohol inks and the blending solution, so i was just waiting on my brand new Stampers Anonymous Sentiments (!!!!!!) and the alcohol ink applicator tool and pads. now, i'd love to spend my time tinkering with these new toys, but i KNOW i'll make a ginormous mess, and i just need to work assembly-line style for a few hours to pump out these cards. Tim is a distraction! :)

anywho.
back i go!

edit:

another card completed! have i mentioned how much i LOVE this rubber stamp set, from Clearly Wordsworth? a miss SAM just won the very same set from my blog candy a couple of weeks ago - i hope she enjoys it as much as i do!

(click to enlarge - dull looking photo!)

this one's for one of my FAVOURITE challenge blogs, Hope Stamps Eternal - the lovely Rachel always has the CUTEST cupcakes to inspire any artist, and i am always excited to dig in (although the cupcakes look too good to eat)! she also has a WONDERFUL shop, with TONS of yummy products and awesome prices... the service was fantastic (i got a notification within a couple of hours saying my order was shipping, and it arrived TWO DAYS LATER)! i will definitely be going back to pay Rachel a visit! :) i was inspired by the soft blue and the white and silver, plus those little pearlies, which were mimicked in the handmade patterned paper. and, of course, SNOW! i also took that little bit of brownish colour and incorporated that with kraft - and can you believe i resisted the urge to play with a hint of orange?! ME! THE ORANGE GIRL! i know, i know... nuts.

this card was also created with the following in mind:
Kaboodle Doodles - snowflakes!
Lots to Do - SNOW!
Sophisticats - snowflakes and sparkle!
Stamp Something - "Glitzy!"
Paper Cutz Challenge - to use a stamped christmas image

edit: another one down - yay!
this one's for the following challenges:
Stampin' For The Weekend - to use red, green and gold
The Pink Elephant - an image coloured with your favourite medium (mine is watercolour pencils)

this cute little Emma stamp is from CC Designs, and i got her from The Town Scrapper - Phebe carries lots of stuff from CC Designs, and she's got a HUGE sale going on right now until mid-January! buy any one item, get the second of equal or lesser value for 50% OFF!

and with that, i think i am off to bed! good night. :)
